Overview

Our Commitment to Transparency

JinIX Foundation believes that transparency is essential to the trust that makes our mission possible. We are committed to being open about how we raise and use funds, who governs our organization, and how we ensure financial accountability.

As a 501(c)(3) public charity registered in California — with tax-exempt status effective February 28, 2025 — we are required to make certain financial documents publicly available. This page serves as a central resource for donors, participants, partners, and members of the public who wish to understand how the Foundation operates financially.

JinIX Foundation completed its first year of operations in 2025. As our financial history grows, this page will be updated annually to reflect the most recent fiscal year filings, audits, and programmatic spending.

Section 4

Designated Gifts and Restricted Funds

Donors may designate contributions to specific programs, such as scholarships or a particular retreat or event. The Foundation honors such designations and maintains separate accounting for restricted funds.

  • Restricted gifts are used only for the purposes specified by the donor at the time of giving.
  • If a designated program is discontinued or the restriction becomes impractical to fulfill, the Foundation will contact the donor to discuss alternative uses or arrange a refund.
  • Unrestricted gifts are allocated by the Board of Directors to areas of greatest need in furtherance of the Foundation's mission.
To designate your gift to a specific program, please indicate your preference during the donation process or contact us directly. All designations are honored in writing.

Section 5

Compensation Disclosures

JinIX Foundation is committed to setting compensation that is reasonable, comparable to similarly situated organizations, and approved by the Board of Directors through an arm’s-length process consistent with our Conflict-of-Interest Policy.

Compensation for the Foundation’s highest-paid employees and contractors will be disclosed on Form 990 once filed. In the meantime, we offer the following general disclosures:

  • No Board member receives compensation for serving in their governance capacity.
  • Expert instructors and facilitators may receive limited honorariums for program delivery, reviewed and approved by the Board.
  • Any compensation arrangement involving a related party is subject to the procedures outlined in our Conflict-of-Interest Policy.

Section 6

Audits and Financial Reviews

As the Foundation grows, we are committed to obtaining independent financial reviews or audits in accordance with best practices for nonprofit accountability. Because we are in our first year of operations and have not yet reported annual gross revenues, formal audit thresholds do not yet apply. Our commitment is as follows:

  • An independent financial review will be conducted once annual gross receipts reach a level warranting such review under California law or nonprofit best-practice standards.
  • A full independent audit will be conducted if annual gross receipts exceed $2 million, as required under California's Nonprofit Integrity Act.
  • Audit reports, once available, will be posted on this page and made available to any member of the public upon request.

Our Board of Directors reviews financial statements at each regular Board meeting and maintains ongoing oversight responsibility for the Foundation’s financial health.

Section 7

Refunds. Refund requests submitted within 30 days of a donation will be honored in full. Requests after 30 days will be considered on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, please contact us directly.
